–Jalaluddin Rūmī

Hola y bienvenidos! My name is Gemma, a passionate, caring and committed teacher. I am the founder and director of Los Cielos Learning S.L, a Local Learning Centre and Worldschool hub based in the Costa Tropical. I am excited about creating a nurturing learning environment for children and teens to thrive in and am fully committed to my students, their families, and the tutor team. I have a zest for life, exploring my passion and purpose, and am dedicated to creating the possibilities for others to do so too. I also like to enjoy the lighter side of life and love soaking up the culture, being out in the sunshine and being part of the local community here in Almuñecar, where I have lived for the past 8 years.
I am a UK PGCE Distinction-qualified maths teacher with a BA Honors International Management Degree and over 15 years’ experience working in both public and private education sectors in the UK and Spain. I was the Head of House System and Head of Year for a large UK secondary school where I also held the position of finance governor. I am a Team Leader for two different exam boards, marking maths primary checkpoints and IGCSE examinations year on year. I have successfully run my own private tutoring and educational experiences business for the past five years and can’t wait to take Los Cielos to the next level! I love to teach, talk and throw myself into everything I do!

Inma Quiros
Science Tutor – Spanish and British CurriculumAll sciences, maths & Spanish
As both a qualified teacher and a former environmental researcher, Inma can bring real scientific experience into every lesson. She enjoys helping students discover that science isn’t about memorising facts – it’s about understanding how the world works. Her goal is to make lessons enjoyable, build confidence and help every student achieve their best.
Before becoming a teacher, she spent more than ten years working on environmental and climate research projects at leading research institutions in Germany and Spain. This real-world scientific experience allows her to explain complex ideas in a clear, practical and engaging way, helping students understand not only what they are learning but why it matters.
Inmaculada teaches secondary science and technology and adapts every lesson to the individual needs of her students. Whether a student wants to improve confidence, prepare for exams (IGCSE, A Levels, ESO, Bachillerato, PAU, etc.) or achieve top grades, she provides structured, encouraging lessons that make learning enjoyable and effective.
She believes that every student can succeed when they feel supported and challenged at the right level. Her aim is to create a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing critical thinking skills and gaining the confidence to reach their full potential.

Carolina López de Blas
Spanish LanguageI am a Spanish teacher with over 15 years of international teaching experience. I studied at the Complutense University of Madrid, specialising in Music and Special Education, although my path naturally led me to teaching Spanish in the USA, Finland, and Costa Rica. Since 2020, I have been happily based in Spain, where I teach Qi Gong to adults, work with children at Los Cielos, and offer online Spanish classes through my method, “Español Consciente,” combining language learning with personal growth and mindfulness. I am deeply passionate about meditation, Qi Gong, and spiritual practices, and in my free time I enjoy reading, writing, hiking, and connecting with nature.

Helen Newman
Art and Taking Care of Ourselves and OthersI am an artist and trained Youth Worker. I earned my degree in Community and Youth Studies in the UK, where I held various roles working with young people before moving to Spain. I am a lifelong artist – I have exhibited my art and continue to sell my work locally – but my biggest joy is getting messy, creating collage, and encouraging those around me to explore the artist within them! When I am not covered in paint and glue, I enjoy being in nature, exploring practical ways to care for the planet, and sewing.
